I was browsing Netflix for a feel good movie, and ended up in the Top 10 for Marilyn, which usually makes me go "What the hell were you thinking, Netflix?" But last night, I found this amazing movie.
I'm a huge fan of David Tennant ever since I saw him in Blackpool with David Morissey.
And of course, since I watched Casanova,
and I'm the obvious FanGirl,
Seeing this movie on the recommended list made me scream.
The Decoy Bride is a romantic comedy, the IMDb blurb states:
"When the world's media descend on the remote Scottish island where a
Hollywood actress is attempting to get married, a local girl is hired as
a decoy bride to put the paparazzi off the scent."
I have to say that as many British films, The Decoy Bride's humor is amazing. Even though I was sure that I knew how the story was going to end, I was compelled to keep watching by great acting. Kelly Macdonald, David Tennant and Alice Eve head an amazing cast that includes James Fleet (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Vicar of Dibley) and the amazing Hamish Clark. (Monarch of the Glen) The writing was superb, creating a creative banter between Katie and James which makes you both want to bash their heads together, and watch them argue with a huge grin on the face.
